Welcome to Puckapunyal
Hi and welcome to Puckapunyal. My name is Leanne Hopkins and I am your local Defence Special Needs Coordinator for the area.
Puckapunyal is located about 8 kms east of the town of Seymour and 100 kms from Melbourne. The base was established in 1939 and for many years it was the largest Army Camp in Australia.
Families with special needs posting into the area need to be aware that resources, services and support for their special needs maybe limited. It is recommended that you put in place a Posting Plan with the DSNSG National Coordinator or contact the National Office on 1800 037 674 if you are considering a posting to this location.
Our group holds regular coffee mornings and family events and by linking in to us, you have access to the wider support, information and assistance that is available throughout our network. For more information about the area have a look at the handy 'Welcome to Puckapunyal' booklet compiled by DCO.
Please give me a call on 0411 117 787 or email to find out what else we are doing and to go on our mailing list.
